General Aims and Importance of the WSH Study The U.S. Public Health Service has provided funding for a study of the relationship between workplace stress and health in the lives of Americans. Who are the participants? In order to get a broad picture of Americans' experiences, we are interviewing 2,000 working adults across the United States. The participants are selected randomly so that we sample from a wide range of different types of jobs, workplace conditions, and health experiences. What is involved in the interview? The interview contains questions about physical health and functioning, health lifestyle, mental health, social relationships in the workplace, and general questions about the work environment. Participants will receive $30 for their participation in the 30 minute telephone interview . All information collected in the study is completely confidential and participation is completely voluntary. For more information about the survey, click here. Who are the interviewers? The telephone interviewers are trained professionals at CODA, a telephone survey organization in Silver Spring , Maryland . CODA's staff of experienced professionals has provided telephone survey support to government, academic, and private non-profit clients. For more information about CODA, click here.
